About Us
Meet the founder
Erik Hetthrow
Meet the Founder Erik Heatthrow, a lifelong sauna devotee, founded Heatthrow to bring authentic Scandinavian wellness home. With 20 years mastering woodcraft and thermal design, Erik blends tradition with innovation—because true heat heals.

Earth doesn’t pay: Sustainably harvested wood, recycled packaging, and carbon-offset shipping on every order.
Welcome to HeatThrow, where heat isn’t just a feature—it’s a revolution.
Born in the crisp chill of a 2023 Minnesota winter, HeatThrow was sparked by founder Erik HeatThrow’s frustration with clunky, overpriced saunas that turned backyard escapes into assembly nightmares.
ABOUT US HEATTHROW
Welcome to HeatThrow, where warmth meets wanderlust.
HeatThrow began with one man, one frozen night, and one unbreakable idea: everyone deserves a real sauna, without the hassle or the price tag.
In the dead of a 2023 Minnesota winter, founder Erik HeatThrow sat in a borrowed ice-fishing shack, sweating in a $5,000 barrel sauna that took three days to assemble and leaked heat like a sieve. Frustrated, he grabbed a pencil, sketched a better way, and built the first HeatThrow prototype in his garage—using scrap cedar, a repurposed infrared panel, and sheer stubbornness.
That prototype became our blueprint. Today, HeatThrow is a small, obsessive team of builders, engineers, and lifelong sauna lovers crafting portable, powerful, and dead-simple saunas that actually work—anywhere.
We don’t do showrooms or middlemen. Every unit is designed, tested, and shipped from our North Woods workshop. We sweat in them. We freeze in them. We pack them into trucks, balconies, and backyards. Then we make them better.
